Is there a way to edit the iOS hosts file?

As the title says. I have a jailbroken iPhone 4S running 5.0.1 and I'd like to block ads via the hosts file. I did this on my old Android phone and I'm assuming it's also possible on iOS. Trouble is, I've googled and can't find any definitive answer. Anyone know?

Sure did, only came up with one result, something called "Adblock" which doesn't appear to work on my device. Any and all attempts to launch it result in it crashing immediately. Hence I decided to see if there was a way to do it manually.
