anyone else disappointed with skyrim?(!!spoilers!!)

Skyrim was the first game i installed on my brand new laptop. I was so excited. I played it for several days SO MUCH. I was in love with it. Don't get me wrong i think the music. graphics, and gameplay are great.

Once i got over all that i realized that , for me, this game isnt really about anything in particular. When i started the first quest, and killed my first dragon, i was so excited. i was like Oh wow, this is going to be a long and interesting story. and it turned out to be a few quests where i fetch stuff for some old dudes and THE END. Then i pranced onto the college of Winterhold. Started a quest there. OH BOY, a cool epic quest about a relic we found. 3 fetching quests later, THE END.
all these short stories. I feel like theres no consequences, the world doesnt change around me as the story goes on. theres nothing really happening on the grand scale.
I feel like im playing an MMO, and theres no one else on the server with me.

anyone else feel like this?

P.S. unfortunately i never played any other elder scrolls games. I DID buy Oblivion deluxe edition a few months ago but never installed it. Seeing my problems with skyrim, would i like oblivion more?

Yes, oblivion is better. I hated skyrim after I finished the main quest it was terrible. Also look at the walls and the ground it's flat no texture at all and that pulls me entirely out of the game. Waste of $60. frown.gif

and also to me all the dungeons are the same. room with 3-4 enemies, corridor safe enough to regain magicka. room with 3-4 enemies. dumb puzzle. rinse and repeat.

also there are SO FEW enemies in the actual world between dungeons. So its like running from instance to instance in an empty MMO with no mobs even to fight

Sounds to me like you just rushed through the quests. Take your time, take in the lore, explore.

More like Bethesda publicized this game as the second coming of Western RPG Jesus and lots of non RPG fans bought it without knowing what to expect from an open world RPG.

Oblivion was better, and Morrowind was better than Oblivion.

Heck, Bloodmoon and Daggerfall are still the best ones.
