And since its been a long time since my last build I was hoping if someone can confirm if I'm doing this correctly. I'll be replacing the stock fans and connect them to the motherboard cpu opt header to control the rpm, connect the 3-pin h100 block to the cpu fan header, and then connect the block's 4-pin molex to voltage adapter and to the psu 4-pin is this correct? Since I don't have the fan controller is there a way to control the block's rpm or do I not have to worry because the v.adapter will fix that for me?

You can run the fan's off of any header you like; I run the fans off of a Sunbeam Rheobus drivebay fan controller, myself as this allows me to hook both fans (via a "Y" adapter) to one fan controller header/knob, thereby making it easier to control both fan speeds at the same time. I'm not sure you can piggyback *two* fans off a typical motherboard fan header but certain drive bay fan controllers (like the Sunbeam Rheobus variety) carry enough wattage per channel to allow it.

For the pump, if your using an in-line voltage dropper adapter, then it's just as you said. Simply plug the 4pin power molex for the pump into the 4pin molex of the adapter and then the other end of the adapter in to your power supply molex. Easy. The three pin molex that is attached to the pump should be plugged in to any header on your motherboard that allows RPM reporting (which I guess, is all of them).

And no, you do not have to worry about controlling the block RPM's as this is the task the in-line voltage dropper adapter is already accomplishing for you.

Post some results once you get it suss'd. I've got two H100s, both with god awful noisy pumps. This solution works like a charm for both of them.

Best.

Hi guys does anybody have a spare diode adapter?
Hi ppl.

As a sad customer of H100, I tried the fix with the diode and it won't work.

I first used the 1N5819 and I still have the HDD sound like.

I then used 1N4004. Again, the same noise.

The 12v rail that powers the pump has also a fan connected to it. That fan (with leds) is blowing air on the HDD rack.
So from my 12v PSU rail, I have an adapter a 2 pin adapter to power the fan of the HDD rack, then on the same wire I have the molex with the diode and then it's connected to the h100 molex.
The pump RPM is 1980. It's a difference from 2200 before that.
I measured the 12v rail before applying the diode and it was 12.1v (giving the fact the meter has some % deviation).

How should I measure the voltage with the diode fix? or it doesn't matter since there's visible RPM decrease.

I use Antec P280 which is a silent case and boy I can hear the pump humming noise and if I get closer I hear the HDD like noise.

For the radiator I use 2 Noctua NF-F12 fans connected to the motherboard - I don't use any fans on the water block controller.

How come this diode fix didn't work?

I'm pretty sure the next replacement won't work either... mad.gif

there was a massive batch of these that were recalled due to pump issues. it was a specific batch that can be found on the box. not sure if this was brought up already but if it hasn't this could be your issue

Maybe try adding another diode?

My H100 was making noise at the stock 2200RPM.

I added a 1N4002 which dropped it to 2020RPM and it was still making some noise.

With 2 diodes in series, it is now silent at just under 1900RPM.
