Welcome. First off youll have to change some things in your bios. List your rig in the rig builder on your profile so we know what your working with.

Nice . Alright first go into your bios and in the advanced menu go to cpu config. There disable C1e, cpu tm, speedstep, turbo, cstate. Then go to your AI menu. Set AI tuner to manual, set cpu ratio to 23 ( or what you want, thats what I ran when I had a 950), fsb to 133, set power mode to enable, set cpu v to 1.3, leave the rest auto for now.

Also disable cpu and pcie spread spectrum, save and reboot.

Once you load windows, open your temp moniter software, and Ibt. Set ibt for 8 threads and then test. If it passes up your fsb by 3 then re run until you get a bsod or freeze. When you get one of the two, then youll have to start up ing your vcore and re testing until you get to your desires freq.

I use turbo v to up it. Just keep a detaied log of what settings you use/change, it helps later on when you run into a problem.

OK well I got to 4.0 at 1.3875. I think that's as high as I wanna go for now. Should I try to set, lower any other settings?

ya go back into your bios and set your qpi to 1.3, cpu pll to 1.81. If your not going to overclock the ram leave it at auto.

Then I would open prime95 and run the blend test for some time to make sure your stable. I like to go 24hrs with no errors, but some say 12hrs is good. make sure to set round off checking before you start.
