Winding Down To The Last 50.

Thread Starter
Well, I have completed my build planning and have $50 left. I have no use for the $, so saving it is not something I want to do. What else should I buy?

Here is my build so far:
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13328589
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0354589

I have also spent $156 on games, so that's how I have $50 left to spend.

Any help is appreciated.

Maybe a sound card, the Asus Xonar DG is a nice upgrade over onboard sound.

Forget the Wireless nic card because you most likely won't be happy with it. Just use your wired connection and buy an AP. You'll have better speeds and range. Your $50 combined with the savings from omitting the wireless nic will allow you to get a good one. I'm using this one as a wireless bridge and it's fantastic. I plug my blu-ray, ps3, etc into it and connect to my wireless router that way. You should be able to find it on sale within your budget.

My computer will be in my room, which is a good 100+ feet away from the router, which is downstairs. I live with my family, so I can't really move the router. I am not familiar with power line networking.

WiFi really isn't all that secure, I like using wired connections to a router. I'm just thinking case fans, like a second for your Hyper 212 so you can do push/pull or spend the money on cable sleeving if you're doing a color theme. Nice rig none the less though good luck with the build.

If I had a long cable available to me, I would definitely used wired connection. The only other solution I can think of is using my Gaming Computer as a HTPC as well, but I am not sure where it would go downstairs. I have one family laptop that me and my brother share and one upstairs that my mom uses. Also, if I ask my dad if I could reposition the router, he probably won't allow it as he is pretty strict. Also, I already have a computer table in my room from a few years ago.

EDIT: Another solution I see is buying a WAP to place upstairs so my wireless signal is boosted, but I am not so sure about it.
