Just out of curiosity, whats the draw back of my current motherboard in terms of overclocking? Note that I'm not saying there isn't any, just genuinely curious. I know its not the absolute top of the line after all.

At any rate I appreciate the suggestions as I'm still not sure what to get...I'm very resistant to a switch to intel. Not because I doubt intel would give more performance as I know that to be true. I guess I've just always gone with the underdog hehe smile.gif

Nothing wrong with your current mobo. Should overclock fairly well.

Start with that. you can always change to a higher end mobo like the sabertooth 990FX or Chrosshair V if you want to do more extreme overclocking.

Your biggest drawback is the chipset - being that it has an IGP on it, it shouldn't be expected to overclock as well as non-IGP chipsets.  Not that it won't provide you with a solid OC.
