Refresh Rate issue with ATI 12.1 Drivers & HDTV.

Thread Starter
I have a Samsung 40" LED (latest 6 series) HDTV as my main display for both my desktop PC and my gaming PC, both PC's are connected with HDMI cables.
My problem is with the latest official 12.1 drivers from ATI I've been having issues when I run Dirt 3 the refresh changes from 60hz to 30hz, the game is unplayable at 30fps. If I change the refresh rate within the graphic settings in the game from 60hz (original setting) to 30hz then back to 60hz it fixes the issue and is playable.
After a session of trouble free driving I exited the game and found out it was only running 1 graphic card, the other GPU wasn't being used at all. I've never had an issue with xfire and Dirt 3 before.

Use official drivers and turn V-Sync off. And there's no specs of what you are working with.

I've tried vsync off and it'll change from 30hz to 60hz and uses both gpu's fully but there it a visual stutter, not smooth.
If I exit the game and restart the game it is back at 30hz mad.gif
I've tried single card with Average FPS = 83 Min FPS = 67
xfire setup at 60hz vsync off Average FPS = 152 Min = 125

This must be my issue (highlighted in bold). My HDTV supports 3D and I'm currently using a HDMI 1.3c cable, do I need a 1.4a cable or is their a way to disable this function in CCC???

Highlights of the AMD Catalyst™ 12.1 Windows® release includes:

IMPROVEMENTS

AMD HD3D technology support enhancement

Enables support for AMD HD3D technology in conjunction with AMD CrossFireX configurations
Delivers a new Stereo 3D mode over HDMI 1.4a connections - 1080p at 30Hz is now enabled on supported displays
