Force audio via HDMI?

Thread Starter
So my PC is primarily used for gaming and I have a 7.1 wireless headset that I use for such. Occasionally we will want to watch a movie and the PC illiterate woman has issues remembering how to change the default sound device. So, how do I get audio to play through both devices to save the hassle of switching?

You'll have trouble outputting through both at once.
The best option is to set up whatever you use to play video files to use the hdmi out. What software are you using to watch movies?
