Is this overkill for Windows Home Server 2011?

Thread Starter
Sorry for beating the horse further, but would the below be overkill or even work for media hosting (blurays converted to MKV, mp3s, backups):

Q9550
EVGA 780i SLI mobo
4 GB RAM (sure this is fine)

Mainly concerned if the mobo is a good idea. I will likely get a RAID card for drive management.

Thanks,

Nah, sounds pretty good.

I'd use it for something else. A low end Core 2 Duo or Pentium Dual Core would be perfect. The C2Q's can still play all the latest games with no issues. I have been using a Celeron D 3.33GHz for almost 2 years. Trust me, it's weak but does everything I need it to. 5TB have flown through that thing
