Help please Asus P8P67 Deluxe etc issues

Not sure what to do here & not sure what symptom is relevant so here is all thats been happening !

PC Specs that I presume relevant: P8P67 Deluxe, XFX HD6950 2GB GPU, i5 CPU, 16GB (4x4) G.Skill approved RAM Win 7 64 Bit

Over the last month or so, PC has been booting up instantly but nothing on screen, monitor would flash a couple of times & after 30 mins or so, the screen would come on

Now, firstly I know PC is on because my case is windowed, all lights on & display on mobo shows AA which is normal

I thought it was something to do with my Amp as PC is connected to amp thru HDMI then back to monitor again HDMI

tbh, Ive lived with this as I turn PC on when I get up & by time I need to use it, its all working, however, today things changed

After 2 hours, no display whatsoever thru HDMI although I could get display from mini display port to another moniter using MDP to HDMI lead but only when HDMI lead was removed from back of PC. Also, DVI from GPU direct to monitor ok, but as soon as I put HDMI lead into PC, screen goes into power saving mode

Problems havent stopped there, upon rebooting to see what happened, Im then face with an Asus screen telling me to press del to enter EFI bios settings, however, I cant, as no power to keyboard at all, in fact, pretty sure no USB power whatsoever, however, leaving everyting alone for about 3 minutes, the PC gives the startup single beep & boots just fine (still no HDMI) I get an instant warning that there is a USB device not recognised / working, then some wrning about the bluetooth module is not working but PC seems fine (other than no BT) & Im typing on it now, however, another reboot & back to same Asus screen etc..

Any ideas please ?

Cheers

I have a friend with a P8P67, and problems like that have been happening to him, too. I don't know the exact solution, but I figured I would give you a reply.

Odd

You seem to have different problems that have no relation apart from motherboard so it could be a motherboard fault

Let rule some things out first

What amp are you using? I know some onkyo's have hdmi board failures over time with include taking time to warm up before showing a display, maybe that is your problem with hdmi? Try connecting directly and not going through the amp to see if that fixes the hdmi?

As for the other problem it sounds to me like a usb device has failed and is causing issues with your usb

Disconnect all usb devices apart from keyboard and see if the problem goes away, if so connect devices one by one until you get the problems again

Let me know if this helps

Cheers Liam, for some reason I didnt get an email alerting me to your post & despite trawling thru many other forums, it does seem you were correct without me even knowing it, as Ive come back here to post that Ive sorted it (for now at least)

firstly, yes, I do have an Onkyo, damn thing, I think it is part to blame as straight HDMI does work, however, so does the Onkyo with every other source - Xbox, PS3 & Sky HD. even with same cables in same hdmi slot as PC, its just pc that doesnt seem to want to work thru amp - I decided to give up, wired it all back up, not working, boiled the kettle & voila, damn thing working again showing no signs of fault !!

With regards to USB problem, this was a weird one, as I say, kept saying USB failuer & BT failuer, I downloaded new bits from Asus web site, nowt changed, I then flashed bios to latest, no change, I then decided to uninstall AiCharger, no change, I reinstalled AiCharger & BTSuite, no change lol, reboot, no change Arghhhhhh, swore at it a lot & very loud (scared the dog), reset Cmos for the 15th time & bosh, seems to be fine again, again, showing no signs of foul play

Not sure what the problems were caused by, nor how I fixed them, still, its working, for now anyway & Ive decided not to turn the Onkyo off ever again lol

Cheers for the replies, although, gotta say Alfaa, not sure urs was any help at all lol

Well if I were you I would sling the onkyo, I mean onkyo are really good amps but they had a couple bad batches with hdmi issues, im currently using the denon avr-1911 and love it, only thing it doesn't have is a proper osd through hdmi so now I want the avr-1912 but cant afford it lol

Good luck anyway buddy
