My problem is that you don't read the topic and ask the same thing that has been asked multiple times now in this thread and answered multiple times as well.
Next to that; this is OCN. People do it because they can.

And I am pretty tired of the hate console users get from PC enthousiasts on this forum.

If your question was genuin and not another PC enthousiast being annoying then I appologise.

Alright I've bought some fan assisted heatsinks, I can see the end!

After this I'll make a proper guide for how to cool it, and what needs cooling after liquid is added.

Do you think I can post this in the case mods when its done? Or am I not allowed since its a PS3 frown.gif

Project Watercooled PS3 is back!

I got it to a state where it ran fine and just left it, but I've just moved into my new flat and have decided to give it a proper revamp before the PS4 comes out.

It's going to get another respray, a proper base with all cables hidden so it's all one unit. Currently its my cats favourite place to sit so I need to do something about that...

So it isn't that easy to watercool a PS3, as when you take away the fan, other things get hot which cause the PSU to overheat. There are 5 parts that can over heat.

One is the PSU, the other 4 are highlighted in my model below.

I'm thinking if I create a custom heatsink for those 4 and have the radiator pressed up against the PS3 at the bottom and cover the rest of the hole, it will create decent airflow over them. If only I had my CNC machine!

As for the PSU, the only thing I can do is have a fan cut into it from the front, but ideally I want it to be smooth on the front, any ideas?

Hi,

i also start modding my PS3 with a Alphacool PS3 cooler.
I left the Fan inside for the other components. At the mom im not sure what control the fan because it turns up after some minutes.
I cant read out the temps because my graphic outputs are damaged. But its still ok for testing. So my only point is the PS3 fan where i can check the heat.
Anybody know for sure that the PS3 FAN is only controlled over the CPU? Or also the chipset, RAMs and PSU?

Here what i done before:
