Dizzy from playing BF3?

Thread Starter
I have being playing FPS games since Counter Strike days and play TF2 daily (usually no more than 2 hr session). After seeing so many positive reviews regarding BF3, I am really temped to purchase this game.

But my experience with BF2 isn't very pleasant a few years back and not sure if BF3 is the game for me. I mean I really want to like this game, the graphic and submersion are astonishing. However, the game makes me feeling dizzy after a while. I have no motion sickness issue and this is the first game that made me felt this way. The enormous map also made the game going very slow. Since I just start playing, I were often shot and killed before knowing where the bullet is coming from. I spend most game time wondering around not knowing where to go and then ambushed.

Should I buy this game?

Getting dizzy? Not sure about that. I know that I started of running around not knowing where everything was. I just kept at it and eventually you get a feel for how to play the game. Same thing with BFBC2 for me.

That actually happened to me when I first started playing MW2 and then I got used to it. I then didn't play any FPS for a long time and picked up MW3 when it came out and the same thing happened to me again. It just takes getting used to by your eyes/brain or whatever it is. I suggest just playing like 1-2 matches then taking a break or even just 1-2 matches a day until you get used to it.

I say if you want to play it then buy it. It'll take a while for you to get good at it like any game for anyone before you learn everything. Just hang with it until you get better!

Should I buy this game?

When you start play some maps like Metro and other Rush maps instead of conquest. These maps are more linear and should help you get the hang of the game better.

Sucks you get Dizzy playing it, I'm not sure if there is going to be a solution for that but obviously don't want to play a game that makes you sick!

Although I've felt dizzy (turning into some bad motion sickness) playing some games in the past (mostly quake II), it depends on multiple things.

Game engine, field of view, distance between eyes and monitor, screen refresh rate, V-sync on or off...

do you play when you're tired? A lot of things come into play.

I have no issues in BF3 whatsoever....and I used to be dizzy in some FPS!!!

Try increasing FOV and possibly removing Motion Blur? If it's 1080P try setting the FOV to something between 70-85. Find out which one looks best to you.
