Now that the FBI will be banging at my door for searching for this pic and words I typed in wondering what I may be doing, I may not complete this build, thats got to be a word that sets off the red flag thing!! baaasmiley.gif lol

Hello everyone, name is Mike. Newer member here thats going to be building a gaming/ video editing computer. Will be needing some help. Many pictures will be posted as well.

My building background:
I have built only 3 computers so far. 1 was just a regular build, the other was a custom build w/ neons mirrors and glow in the dark things etc, and the final one was a dual processor server with all kinds of cool things in it. That was back in '03 when I had a good friend teach me how to put a computer together, load the O.S., reformat, and partition a HDD. I still remember alot of what he taught me but some I have not, not too mention theres a lot of new technology out that I need to learn. Wish I could have him as my wing man through this but about a year ago he sadly passed away, love you Frizzle (Frank)! redface.gif Needless to say this will be the 1st time messing with a water cooled computer. I have been reading the stickies on that section! Long read!!

Anyways, heres what she is going to consist of:

Case - NZXT Switch 810 Black case ( Will be here Feb 14th 2012 thumb.gif )

Mobo - ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 Mobo ( Have that )

CPU - Intel I5 2500K ( Need to order ) ( Will be water cooled with a XSPC RayStorm High Performance Acetal CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Intel )

SSD - Corsiar M4 64gb

HDD - 1-2 TB HDD (Still need to order)

GPU - This is a tough one for me, my wife will be doing some video editing, not professional just personal video (Parties, Boating, Our son's videos ETC) and I will be mostly just playing COD MW3 (This I want watercooled as well) ( Got one for now, its temp but it will work for now)

PSU - Seasonic x760 Gold Modular

Optical Drive - CD/ DVD-R

Pump - Not sure yet ( Will be running a rad on top and bottom of case, again for future expansion ) ( Need to get )

Res - Not sure of a brand but I know it will be the cylinder type. Not going with a bay drive type. I saw someones computer on here that has that and I liked the way it looks, with some dye in there and a black light glowing greenish/ yellow (Uranium) ! ( Need to get )

Rads - I would like to run 2, 1 up top and one at bottom of case or in a bay, I forget the sizes that the case accepts but ill figure that out. ( Need to get )

That about does it for hardware. Will have some other cool visual things in there but not sure what yet as I need to still search some stores that sell those type blingy things! I ordered some LED light strips already, will be here next week.
Here are some pictures of what I have so far. This will be a slower build as I still need to learn some things and research things. I'm in no rush and want to do this right the 1st time. I'm not afraid to take on any type of custom modding as I own a small Home Improvement and Painting Company and am very hands on and have the tools for the job. And speaking of jobs I am busy as heck right now and wish I could clone myself cause I need more of me at the moment!

Ill shutty now! Please be patient with me with all my questions I will be asking, as mentioned I am kind of on my own here with this build since my buddy passed, so Ill need your help. Not to be rude but please only answer if you know what your doing, wrong info or "not sure" type of info can get costly. Sorry but its true! Not meaning it as being rude either. biggrin.gif:D:thumb:

One last thing. Thanks to everyone who is going to help me, your help will be much APPRECIATED ! thumb.gifthumb.gif

UPDATE: Feb 13, 2012

I had to hunt down the Fed Ex guy this morning, I came home to a slip at the door saying they attempted to deliver a package and I missed it by 15 Min's, so me knowing my neighborhood, I knew he was still in it, so I got in my truck and drove all over till I found him, and found him I did biggrin.gif And look at what I would have waited for another day.....

Shes purdy thats for sure, and fingerprint prone! tongue.gif But thats OK, now me being in the Home Improvement and Painting Business I had to check out the quality. The paint at least on mine has orange peal, cant really see, till your close to it. The construction part of it, well theirs alot of plastic parts on it. Some don't feel to structurally sound and feels week. But I can live with all that as long as I'm just careful, but for the $170 we pay I feel like a few things could be better. But all in all I still love her, shes huge and has plenty of room (at least empty) we will see when I start cramming all kinds of goodies in there.biggrin.gif But all in all I give them thumb.gifthumb.gif for some of their thought out things they did in there. I am happy and not bashing at all biggrin.gif, just telling how it is "to me and my standards". Not too mention, I got free shipping which should have taking 7 business days but they sent it out and got it much sooner than that, I think its because we had a billing issue with my old address and it got delayed and they sent it quicker shipping method for me, so THANKS GUYS at NZXT thumb.gif

Anyways enough of my lame small review!

Heres some more pics, now things are going to be rolling in, the next few days alot will be here, so for now I'm going to get more acquainted with her and all that and wait patiently for my PSU and other things to arrive so I can get started.

Looking to do some sleeving to the PSU so that might delay some things as I still need to find a place and order, haven't had the chance to look into that yet, so any recommendations feel free to write some down for me! Thanks thumb.gif

I sure hope so! Newegg has the white in stock but no black ones yet. I did find a black one at a online place but I guess their in FL and they wanted to charge sales tax and 40 to ship it, bringing it over $200. So I'm going to try and be as patient as I can be till I can find it cheaper. biggrin.gif

Thanks, this is going to be a cool build. Cant wait to get started on her.

Got a PSU on the way

And found a "couldn't pass up deal" for a gpu, nothing crazy at all but it'll be OK till I save up for the bad boy.

I'm rolling along here, werd is the case will be out tomorrow so Ill order that up, got my 6 feet of blue LEDs for inside the case today, dimmable and all that.

My PSU water block will be here tomorrow or Thursday.

I'm getting there! Slowly but I am getting there.

Got my CPU block in. Its the XSPC Raystorm, looks very nice.

I am also seeing that the black cases are still not in stock at Newegg, I am getting very impatient here! I want to have one on the way like last week. I hope they have them in SOON, I also tried to talk to a customer rep and gave them the item number and they cannot tell me anything about if or when they will have it. Pretty much everything is on its way and the case is going to be holding me up now. Grrrr!! Sorry had to vent.

I'm thinking of using this as RAM, any good, was thinking 16gig but now I'm thinking just 8 will be plenty, same brand and all just lower gigs?

FYI...

Switch 810 black has been in stock @ xoxide & Nzxt Armory. I noticed while shopping for my white one.

Have a great time with your build!

Cheers!
