You can't add more VRAM. You would have to get new cards with more VRAM.

Each of my cards have a gig of dedicated vram so in xfire im running 2 gigs of vram and without upgrading my video card i cant add and vram?

You only have 1GB of VRAM, Xfire doesn't double the VRAM.

@fashric What about 2 gigs Both cards have 1gig apiece or is this only use the maincard and not both these?

You only have access to 1GB of usable memory.
2 cards means twice the processing power, but not twice the memory.

it sounds like you are running out of Vram. but the problem with that is that i am also running two 6870's on a rig and i was able to play bf3 with everything on ultra just fine. try to change your clock settings on your gpu. also try to cool the cards down more. i have had problems with fps if my temp gets to high. also make sure that your drivers are up to date.

Do you recall whats temps you got the drops at? Currently running them at 940/1200? cpuid said highest temp it hit was 73

7970 3Gb would be a good start or a 3gb GTX 580 and double up if you want more.
