I will quite happily sell an iPad to a customer at work if I think its right for them, its a simple and well done OS thats very hard to do something wrong on and easy to get to grips with. If someone hasn't used a tablet before then its alot less scary getting used to iOS.
However for myself and alot of my customers iOS is too limited. Whilst it has productivity programs like pages and numbers they just feel a bit too simple, a bit like wordpad in windows compared to Word itself. Also its not as simple as it could be for putting documents and files onto the system to edit them, the prime on the other hand comes with polaris office preloaded and will open MS Office files easily.
Customization options are much higher on android, if you get bored with icons then you're a bit stuck on iOS as you can't have anything but icons.
The apps are more abundant on the apple side atm, the android market is getting there but its got a bit more catching up to do. However with the popularity of android tablets and other devices rising so is the rate at which developers are advancing their apps. The 'for tablets' section is getting better on the android market, but I feel that the apple market still has the edge at the moment.
The dock on the prime makes alot of difference. Typing is so much easier with a physical keyboard and whilst you can equip an iPad with a bluetooth keyboard it will never feel as well put together as the prime does with its dock. Along with the physical keyboard you also get an extra battery (18 hours life in total), a USB socket and an SD card slot to compliment the micro SD slot on the tablet itself. Expandable memory is something I feel apple really need to do.
At the end of the day its each to their own, the iPad is a well made piece of kit and great for first time or casual users. But for me the Prime is the better kit.
