FX8120 vs. 2500k Benchmark Results - Page 23

Why does every thread like this divulge into people posting SLI/CFX results back and forth.

No one uses SLI/CFX, not even the people posting the benchmarks.

Because it shows the CPU's performance without the system being GPU limited. Playing Metro at max settings at 1920x1200 with a 5770 would show pretty much an Athlon II equal to a 3770K because it wont take much to max out that 5770. By using dual video cards, youve got plenty of GPU muscle and youll only be limited by how fast your CPU is feeding them. It doesnt have to be $1000 in video cards, it can also be like that TechPowerUp review with the single 7970.

Thing is that you have to get into these multi, $1000+ GPU configurations at resolutions in the 5000's before you really start to see Intel pulling away and even then, its only in a handful of games.

Thread cleaned. Keep it on topic and quit with the arguing and calling each other names. I will start handing out infractions, you guys aren't 2 years old. So quit acting like it.

How pathetic and insecure does someone have to be to post a $1000 intel cpu result in an amd forum about the 8120?

The most popular resolution is 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 so why don't you post those results? rolleyes.gif

Im still waiting for that "Flatline..." If I'm a fan boy, then what does that make you?

Look son, the dark hour of reason has come, and your deficiencies have been exposed. It's flat out embarrasing now. Have some self respect will you? Picking on you now feels like picking on someone whose handicapped. It's just not right, so Im gonna stop.

With the exception of a few games, FX is on par with its spintel counterparts.

As do I. And I could probably count a LOT of other members who have purchased or are looking at purchasing a 27" 2560x1440 monitor.

However, in the main part of the review, I am stunned at the results still. Did the registry update actually increase performance despite tom's findings? Were they merely cherry picked by computerparts? I have no idea what to make of it. Also BD seems to be way better than my old phenom II 955 at RE5. That was one of the more unexpected results for me.
This is why I asked him to possibly redo the tests with either a more powerful GPU or multiple ones. Preferably AMD cards to rule out any conspiracy theories...

Sorry all I have is a 6950. I did have a 6990 but sold it before I got the 2500k. As for cherry picked, I made a thread asking what benchmarks people wanted to see prior to doing the benches. I would not have known where to begin without everyone's help.

Guys arguing about the 7970, it's a single gpu card. There are only 2 versions of a dual 7970 at this moment. Power Color and I think it was Asus both made a 7970x2. The 7990 will be a single card with dual 7xxx series gpus and we're still awaiting its release.
