Am I weird for prefering UNIX based operating systems? What OS do you prefer?

Thread Starter
I am a Software Engineering student and I find myself only using Windows for games and and occasional assignment. Most of the time I am either on some Linux distro such as Mint, Ubuntu, Slackware, Fedora or Mac OS X Lion. Am I weird for not being a giant fan of Windows. What do you guys think?

I'm not a fan of windows, and not much of one for mac either. I always seem to find that limit in what I want out of my computer, be it customizability or usability or stability. I use Linux 99.9% of the time. I don't use Mac unless I'm fixing something for my wife and I don't use Windows unless I'm running Netflix or a game I have that don't work on Linux or one of my Consoles. Nearly everything works on Linux, and things that don't, I enjoy trying to make them work.

Writing, Editing, Programming, anything internet based, music, videos, you name it - Linux.
Netflix, 3D gaming - Windows
Something my wife cannot screw up at all - Mac (yet, she still does somehow!)

I'm not some fanboy, I'm just a realist that likes to learn.

So, Weird? Nah.

Windows is rubbish so I think it's perfectly natural to prefer UNIX-based OSs.tongue.gif

I'm actually quite proud of the fact that I've completely purged Windows from my home (and I have a lot of computers at home for some reason)

I have only recently come to see the light, but now that I use Linux I can't stop using it. I have basically quit gaming altogether, save for the occasional minecraft, because I stopped using windows. Every time I have to fix someone's virus laden computer, I remember why I use Linux. And after you use it for a while, everything starts to make sense and it seems so elegant. At first I thought the naming scheme for hard drives was dumb, but then I figured out that having each hard drive be the same device name every time was a good thing. Not like windows where the OS can be installed on the D: drive because you has a media reader plugged in, or the other drives on the system get assigned different letters each time. Ahh, I love linux.
