Has anyone else experienced as major a slowdown as I have?? I'm talking almost 6 minutes a frame difference....A 500 frame unit used to finish for me on XP at about 1:40 to 2:30 a frame and just over a day to complete, and in Vista its at about 9:30 a frame and says just over 3 days to complete
Ofcourse I haven't been at this long and it may just be the type of core it is but that seems a bit outrageous to me.... Anyways it appears my XP drive is now shot and only option I have is to wipe it since restore disks have no effect and I have no way of recopying the file(s)
(xp was version that came with old rig so I can't reinstall either
) I'm not sure what to do now since I have no idea of how to turn down Vista so I can optimize F@H. Is there a way to tune down amount of resources drawn by Vista... In XP I can keep processes down to around 20-23 but in Vista there are 40 or more running while F@H is trying to run. Thanks again guys
P.S. Any help someone might have about fixing my XP would be GREATLY appreciated
Problem was caused in middle of creating partition when I had a brown out and rig went down in middle of moving system32 files... I don't know how many are lost but when booting I get "Windows cannot start: Can not find hal.dll. Please reinstall and boot again"
