AMD Athlon II X4 631

Thread Starter
I have an interest in this processor for some reason, its 32nm and has 4mb of level 2.

Its basically an APU with the gpu part turned off. also its FM1 only

What advantages would this have, over say a Athlon II X4 620 for overclocking.(Both are 2.6 GHZ)

Perhaps you would be able to reach higher clocks with less voltage on then FM1 athlon because of its 32nm. But if you take a step back, you realize it's pointless because many FM1 boards are media--oriented. I'd say go for the athlon ii x4 on a regular am3 or am3+ board.

APUs without the GPU part overclock ridiculously well (you can expect some 4.1-4.5Ghz but really not much higher than Phenom II and not much better performance either).

This is a great processor for the price and can overclock well when paired with the right board.  It's actually a better choice-for-price than low end Phenom II x4 830/925 + board sometimes.
