Well, thats kinda usual. The PSU rails arent similar between the psus of the market. That OCZ might have a bit, little bit more Vdroop than your old unit just for the first days so it makes your OC not stable.

I experienced the opposite thing, I upgraded my PSU to an Antec HCP1200 from a Tacens Supero 700 (which broke down) and I could use less Vcore than before at 3.6ghz with a Q9450, then I changed the PSU to my actual FSP Aurum Gold 700W and no changes were noticed.

Just 'cause something is new and theoretically has enough power doesn't mean it will out of the box. Even the best can have a bad unit. And if it's an off-brand, it may just not have quality power.

Its not a OCZ unit its a XFX 1250W Black Ed, at this price you expect quality from a gold rated PSU.

Im still doing some test , I check the 12V line with a multimeter and its stable 12.14 idle and 12.15 under load , also nothing suspect or fluctuation at all.

Im now trying to find the max stable OC for this PSU with 1.52vcore then im gonna put back the corsair and do the same, Ill report later...
I hope to find something that will allow me to RMA because I dont think they will agree to RMA because I cant get my OC stable,

that psu had absolutely mind-bogglingly good 12v regulation @ JG tongue.gif and infinitely better than the original TX series

So I test both PSU with same setting and both are now unstable at my old OC setting (3902CPU and 2676NB) I did my last OC only 3 week ago and was prime tested and stable.

You can run a 8pin MB with only a 4 pin but you cant overclock well without all the 12V and the ground... starting from there I check the motherboard back at the 8 pin connector in case a pin lift a trace and dont make contact anymore and eveything look good there.

If its not related to the PSU upgrade the only other thing I can think of is my CPU or MB starting to age , I notice it at the end of the summer I was not able to return to my favorite winter OC. when my CPU was new I can do 3960 stable at 1.52V , after a year and half the only stable OC on that vcore was 3900, right now 3 week after, all I can get is 3850 for that vcore.

If its CPU age, well its a weird timing to start Bsod on me the very same day I switch the psu... only 3 week after some prime test and 165 hour of bf3 without a single bsod.

Im out of solution... I guess I will leave it at 3850 and call it a day and hope this problem will not come back to bite me later
