The 7890 will be out sometime within the next month for $360 in the US if you're willing to wait... but with your country's VAT I guess that would be over your budget. 7870 would be my recommendation then I guess... it should be considerably faster than the 6970

Battlefield will take advantage of 2GB if it's there, mine regularly goes above 1800MB on ultra. I'd recommend a 6950 and OC it to 6970 clocks, maybe you could even unlock the shaders if you get a good card.

So,

nVidia = 560Ti (is it 2gb?)
AMD = 6950 2gb or 7870 2gb

P.S.
I want a 2gb card because I am not planning to get one new next year...

My vote goes for the 6950 2GB since it's the best performance/price out of those. We still don't have enough info on the 7870, so waiting for that might be a good choice too.

Yep, that card has the reference cooler design so it has a very high probability of unlocking.

I highly recommend you use the shader-only unlock method here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2137760

It basically modifies your stock BIOS and unlocks the shaders without changing the default clocks or voltages of your card. It's safer than flashing to a true 6970 BIOS. And you shouldn't have any issues with temps. Just don't let the GPU exceed 90C.

It's something to do with RAM timings isn't it? My Sapphire 6950 Dirt3 came with a pre-loaded BIOS that unlocks the extra shaders without the full flash, after switching to position two I just OCed to 6970 performance smile.gif.
