there should be two tabs on either side of the metal contact in the socket that you have to push it. they are harder to get to, but it works about the same.

Just to be pendantic, but the pins in the female housing are actually male smile.gif

As Kevin says, they have exactly the same mechanism for locking, but they are deeper in. You just need longer staples or the depinning tool from Molex. Non-Molex tools usually can't reach deep enough into the female housing.

I got it all figured out!

Household staples for female pins (male housing tongue.gif)
1.5" Staple gun staples for male pins (female housing)

Took a while to understand how the mechanism worked, I though it was different than the male housing... guess not!
Thanks!

If you are doing a lot of cable work try Frozen Cpu, has single tools or kits for all pin configs. Have fun !thumb.gif

If you do choose to buy a "Kit" I would highly discourage you from doing so. The original molex tool hands down will put an ease to your hands and frustration. thumb.gif

However if staples work fine, by all means.
