Help with unlocking bootloader?

Okay, so here's where I stand right now. It might seem a bit confusing, but once you understand it you'll realize how close I am tongue.gif

So first off, I'm using a Motorola Atrix 4G and it's rooted. My initial problem was, I was trying to install a custom ROM, but Clockworkmod wouldn't boot into recovery, I'd only get an exclamation mark icon.

I came across this thread, and clicked the link provided, then followed the beginner guide which is here. When I tried typing the command 'fastboot oem unlock' , I got the same message the guy in the thread got which was "OEM unlock is not implemented" . The answer he got was to use the ATT ONLY - Unlocker for 1.8.3 and 4.5.91 ATT firmwares with RSD file to fix it, and the guy said that it worked.

The problem is, I'm not sure how to use that ATT Only file. When I download it, it's in a RAR file and the only file in the RAR is '4547-fix-try2.sbf' . Does anyone know how I can use this file to fix my problem?

You'll have to extract the SBF to use it.

Then if it's like any other Motorola device you'll have to use RSD Lite to flash your phone with that specific SBF.

- Extract SBF
- Download/Install RSD Lite
- Put phone into STOCK RECOVERY
- Plug-in Phone
- Open RSD Lite
- **Make sure your phone says "Ready to Flash* Or USB Mode**
- Make sure your phone is recognized by RSD Lite
- Load SBF
- Flash

Edit - If it fails, just try again. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it. But if it keeps failing, then I'd suggest looking for a different SBF.

Thanks for the quick reply. However, I don't have much experience with this so bear with me tongue.gif . I've downloaded RSD Lite 5.5, however I'm not sure how to put my phone into stock recovery. The rest seems pretty straight forward though.

Tried a few things, first I tried pressing power and vol down when turning on phone, then using volume down to navigate to Android Recovery and pressing volume up to select it, however I only got the exclamation mark screen and touching the screen did nothing. Second, I tried booting into recovery using clockworkmod, and it said "Failed to boot 2, Starting RSD mode" nothing changed after saying starting RSD mode, so I tried using RSD Lite to flash it from there. My phone was recognised, but when I started flashing a message popped up on my phone but nothing happened.
