This Raser Blade is lacking the following from its build:

Magnesium
Duraluminum
Carbon Fiber

Aluminum isn't some high-end material, it's cheap and plastic laptops with a similar weight have similar durability.

Next, as for the keyboard, there's nothing tactical about a touch keyboard with horrible keystroke distance. If this laptop had a mechanical keyboard or something even close to Thinkpad level, then you could say "ooh look gaming laptop with great keyboard". You'll get owned trying to use this keyboard gaming against someone else playing on a laptop with a mechanical, or any decent gaming keyboard. This is relevant because last I checked, you can fit a keyboard in a bag easily. And any laptop keyboard with numpad and perhaps a USB macro pad will be just as good for gaming.

Not saying the Raser Blade is bad.. its just not a premium laptop (just like aluminum wheels aren't racing wheels.. close but not quite).

I am laughing at this machine while typing from my laptop that is 600 bucks cheaper and totally destroys this thing. If i waited 4 months, id had 580M....Still would come 300$ cheaper...thumb.gif

All other points already said.

Yes, razer. Thank you knid sir, i realized who it is the first time i saw it. We all know razer sells overpriced gaming gear. Comparing my Kone+ and the most expensive razor mouse i came up with easy outcome. Kone+ being 50% cheaper does the thing better ( not even talking about the roccat drviers quality ).

On topic. For this price, i believe that i would look for the hardware as well. Actually, it would be the priority. And let me tell you this thing cant play battlefield 3 or Skyrim on Medium even. Heck i am playing Both on high settings and i have to do half-possible OC of my GPU to keep around 60 FPS, in Skyrim i get even to 80 FPS on that settings. And we are talking about very good GTX570M. THis thing is 555M.

Sorry i just cant see it playing todays games unless you play them on medium-low. Even then, gl hitting 60 FPS in BF on medium setting. And the overclock headroom is so poor. Most peopel wont even dare to OC this thing in the end ( given at whom this is targeted ).

Not even going to talk about keyboard or sound. MSI got best sound, believe even one of the, if not best keyboard. And since big portion of gaming and daily stuff o nthe internet, is decent sound i will never take this machine unless it utilize DYNAudio 2.1 - Thanks. Which will never happen and even then, wont buy it tongue.gif

Edit: A gt 555m?? That's all?? For that price I was expecting some kind of SLI setup for sure. Well I suppose SLI is a bit much for this size of a laptop but still gt 555m thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Just by the look of that thing.... I hate it. But that aside, you know how Razer will do it. They have their own products and will most likey make their own products...

Hahaha, oh wow.

For 3K you might as well buy a Mac...

My sig laptop has a GT555M and it cost ~$1000.

So basically Razer is charging you another $1800 for the flashy keyboard and the "Razer" logo.

Dual 6990M, blu-ray burner and 2.25TB for 2800 bucks, then you get 100 dollars off.

Not to mention I/O

1 HDMI 1.4a output Port
1 DVI-I output Port
2 USB 3.0 Ports
3 USB 2.0 Ports (one with Power Share)
1 eSATA Port (USB combo)
1 IEEE-1394a Fire Wire
1 Headphone Jack
1 Microphone Jack
1 Line-In Jack
1 S/PDIF output Jack
1 RJ-45 LAN (10/100/1000Mbps)
9-in-1 Card Reader (MMC/RSMMC/MS/MS Pro/MS Duo/SD/Mini-SD/SDHC/SDXC)
1 MiniCard Slot for WLAN module

And audio

High Definition audio interface
S/PDIF Digital output
1 Built-in Microphone
5 Built-in Speakers
1 Built-in Sub-Woofer
External 7.1CH audio output supported by headphone, microphone, S/PDIF and Line-in Jack
THX TruStudio Pro

And a fingerprint securty. I wonder if the razer blade has any of those.

It has the Razer logo, which is enough justification for some. A bit like the Apple logo.
