I would either get 2 of those AMD sticks as 3 sticks will only run in single channel or get the 8GB 1600 and sell your current set.

It's only 17 bucks and I won't notice a difference between 1333 and 1600. Thx for all the input! biggrin.gif

You wont see any difference between 1333 and 1600 but you will notice a drop from dual to single channel if you only have 3 sticks of ram.

So then... it'd be a good idea for me to buy the crucial 2x4gb 1600 w/ free cooling fan for $45?

Right now I have 1x4gb adata 1333.

All is good then, get the AMD stick. Thought you might have had 2x2GB so I was thinking you would have 3 sticks, you are running single channel right now so that extra stick will give you dual channel and 8GB's win-win.

So I'm okay to mix both 1333's even if they're not the same brand? I won't be overclocking the ram, but I do overclock the cpu.

I only rock G.Skill. IMO Crucial Ballistix are not the best ram. The can be a PITA. I would go with 8 GB 2x4 gb

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

You can mix 1333 Ram as long as you are using only 2 sticks as you will be able to run dual channel. If you run x3 sticks you will only be running single.

Trust me my friend, g-skill is the only way to go. The guy above me linked a great set, and personally, I have become partial to the sniper series. Low voltage, great overclocking. Ive got a review on them too. Check these out.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231461

Stock at 1600mhz 1.25volts, I have them overclocked to 1866 on only 1.35v. Great ram, worth every penny.
