What relates to Raw Read Error Rate?

I've did a bit of research but couldn't find any satisfactory answers.

Basically this. I have a friend with a WD2002FAEX. That's a 2TB Black.

Yesterday, the Raw Read Error Rate was at '32'.
Whilst cleaning his room, he accidentally knocked into his computer with a vacuum cleaner.

I quickly checked AIDA/Everest and the value increased to 33. There were no other things like ECC errors or CRC errors or Reallocated Sectors at this point.

This morning, he texted me to say that the value has increased to 35. I'm currently getting him to check all his other values.

Thing is, is such an increase inprecendented or dangerous?

Here are a number of factors to consider:
1) He torrents a lot of animes and Japanese videos. I hear torrenting causes this, thought I'm skeptical about that because I torrent too (not crazily) but I don't get these things on my SMART data.
2) He experienced a residential power failure earlier that day. This was BEFORE I arrived at his place, and when I arrived and installed AIDA the value was already at 32.
3) It increased by 1 after he knocked against the PC.
4) I also installed new hardware for him. This morning he texted me saying that he got a BSOD relating to igkmd64.sys. A bit of Googling pointed out the Intel HD Graphics driver, so I told him to uninstall it as he was already on a Radeon HD5770.
6) I told him to check the data only AFTER I told him to run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f in anticipation of corrupted files.

Could the BSOD and sporadic checks have a part to play in increasing the error count?

EDIT: Not sure if anyone is going to be bothered to reply due to my overly-detailed accounts and constant paranoia about hard drives... But this guy... He's got 1.5TB of crap to backup in case his disk fails, and I'm the one who will have to back it up for him with my WD Green because I promised him a one-year warranty after assembling his PC.

Well, this is why i LOVE RAID 1 so much...but in all seriousness, go ahead and backup his drive somewhere, install a new drive into RAID 1 mirror Mode, Copy the Data over again, and voala! once his other drive dies, he will still have it on his other one, and slap in a new HDD and rebuild the Array. What does HDTune say the state of the hard drive is in? can you list all the other SMART data? Also, the thing about hard drives... once they are unstable and are in a warning stage, and about to have a hardware failure, literally anything you do to it, even leaving it alone, will push it closer to dying... , but we dont know if your HDD is dead yet, so please.. SMART DATA

I've posted it already.

It looks fine as far as a WD drive is concerned.

I have got a WD5000BEVT in an external casing, and that has 10 read errors arising from the time I accidentally knocked the USB cable out of the USB port whilst data was being transferred.

It can't be that coincidental that S-ATA cables in BOTH his rigs are screwed, can it? Besides, a screwed S-ATA cable hints to an Ultra ATA CRC Error Rate reading instead of a Raw Read Error Rate in most cases.

He has another 500GB GreenPower that was running on a broken cable; see here:

UPDATE:

My friend has notified me that the number of Raw Read Error Rate has increased to 37.

He mentioned that there was a short pause when he was opening a file; and upon checking the SMART status, it had increased.
Prior to this, the computer was left on for torrenting, and I monitored the SMART data from the time of the previous post till 3 hours later.

I also opened random files and did a system scan; but there was no change in the number of Raw Read Error Rate.

I have advised him to shut down the PC, then unplug both ends of the S-ATA cable before plugging them in again firmly.
