750W PSU enough for evga gtx580 3GB Classified?

I have a decently overclocked CPU, q9550 at 3.7, and a gtx480 at 825mhz.

I am thinking about getting the evga 3gb gtx580 Classified, and I want to overclock it. Will my current PSU be enough? It's the TX750W.

A good 500w unit would work. Your tx750 will be more than ample.

Yep, 750W is just fine for a 580. thumb.gif

Really? I've read posts that saw a good overclocked Classified will require a 1000W or something.

3 overclocked 580s wouldn't draw that much power. 4 of them MIGHT.

Nah, maybe SLI, but even then its a bit overkill.

Not even close... 1000W power supply for like 4 GTX 580 Classified in QUAD SLI with a 4GHz Sandy Bridge E... im not sure you understand... 1 kilowatt is A LOT of power... even my computer doesnt need 1000W,, your PSU will handle it just fine... in fact with room to spare

Don't forget guys the classy has 8+8+6 pin connectors and can draw a LOT of power when seriously overclocked. That being said, if OP isn't sure about the PSU being enough I highly doubt he will be benching on LN2. The 750w will give plenty of breathing room with just one at normal OC's.

Thanks.

Another follow up question, will a Q9550 at 3.7ghz be a huge bottleneck?
