MSI Triple Over voltage card owners, step inside please

Hello, I am wondering how does this MSI Triple over voltage thing work?

I know traditional GPU's, theres a core voltage that you can increase in increments of 12.5mv...and most of the time, I would go out and overclock the core to xxx mhz and keep increasing until it gets unstable....then from there, I'll try increase the voltage 12.5mv increments until that xxx mhz core clock is stable...and just keep going

now with MSI Hawk or Lightning cards, they have this feature called triple over volt....how do you know if you need to increase volts on the other two? Do they increase the same 12.5mv increments? Please advise

I haven't seen anybody actually bother with the VRAM or PPL voltage. They just aren't needed, memory speed has such little effect on performance with these cards, and the voltage allowed on the core is usually enough that you don't need more through the PLL. The memory voltage allows up to 100mV overvoltage on my card, and the PLL up to 50mV overvoltage, I don't know the steps it's actually applied in because one I haven't used them, and two you don't have a readout for there actuall voltages in MSI AB so I'd have to use a DMM.

so what is your highest OC by just playing with the core volt? and you didn't see any difference when bumping up the PLL volts?

I haven't used the PLL or VRAM voltage. On my card the core voltage allows all the headroom you would need (+200mV).

I have messed with them for shatz and giggles and was able to get the core/shader to 1200/2400 and memory to 2250. That was every slider maxed out before the system crashed. Usually most don't go beyond 5% or so on the memory because of the little affect it has. I ran 1 card at 925/1850/2200 stable for 2 months until I got me second card which then I brought them down to 900/1800/2050. On these oc's I did not mess with the 2 other voltages.
