Coming late with input:

I vote for Fear 2 and amnesia (same developers from penumbra, so you are certainly going to like it)
Fear 2 has sequences that left you claustrofobic, desperate.

Amnesia has an expansion/mod. It's named after a girls name, I think.. I don't really remember.

Dead space is also horrific, I haven't played the second, though.

My secret to play these games is always turn the volume high and play on a dark room biggrin.gif I use black tape to cover the LEDs in my keyboard, monitor, rig, modem, router, etc. Just so I can only have the monitor as a source of light.

That's pretty hardcore, lol. But that is the "correct" way to play horror games. Playing a horror game with the lights on defeats the purpose entirely.

Two more games just came in my mind, If you love Amnesia then do try the Penumbra series. They're from the same developer. Cryostasis is also a great game, Not much of an horror title but gives some chills at certain places, The atmosphere's feeling is superb - similar case with S.T.A.L.K.E.R series and Metro 2033!

I don't think I have HL2. I'll have to dig through some box's, lol.

Droogie: Yes, the Russians know how to make good games.
