i got my p8p67 pro @ geeks.com..it works..sound was borked so i had to buy a $12 sound card
win! thumbsupsmiley.png

I get everything from kakaku.com or Akihabara. They don't ship outside of Japan, and the site is all in Japanese but they have cool rankings and reviews.

I'm getting the Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

You're from Japan, you say? I traveled to Osaka a few years ago with my wife to meet the in-laws. Great city. Loved every minute of it. That place has like double or triple the population density of Los Angeles so it kinda blew me away at first. My only regret is that I didn't eat more. biggrin.gif I wanted to eat absolutely everything over there.
BTW, Mister Donut = heart.gif

Close I'm getting the Extreme4, the Extreme3 in Japan costs $109.79.
OH MAN MISTER DONUT!!! It's my favorite shop! I love the peanut butter stuffed doughnut dipped in chocolate. heart.gif best. doughnut. ever.

Yeah but I don't usually buy things RIGHT AWAY. So it would probably be like a year before I touched Ivy. But it's always nice to be able to if I wanted.

My last bit of advice would be to make sure the motherboard has 2x PCIe x16 slots (for possible crossfire in future) note some of the cheapest z68 mobos only have 1 PCIe x16 slot, meaning you could only have 1 graphics card, so no crossfire.
When are you going to start ordering parts / building this system?
If you would start around the end of Feb, or early march I would recommend looking into the 7850 graphics card. It should be introduced at ~$250 and the newer architecture should make it more efficient and faster than the 6950. (I would wait for a couple reviews before purchasing though)
If you are going to build sooner, go with the 6950 2 gb you will be very happy with it.

Yeah I think I'll wait on the graphics card because everyone is saying the new ones will come out. On board graphics should last me till then.

looks like new egg says it has: 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (single at x16 or dual at x8/x8 mode) and 1x PCIe 2.0 x16 so I think i'm good :3

I will be building by the end of Feb/mid Aprl. I NEED off this laptop! I swear it's going to die any second.

PS. Updated mobo on 1st post

I'm on the same boat as you *sigh*
I'm on my laptop (Asus G60VX) and it's getting outdated and seems like it will die any second as you say.
I spent about over a month to get the parts I wanted: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13706994
Biggest problem was deciding which graphics card, not to mention I needed a monitor + keyboard so that added to the cost (Monitor I'm not sure atm because I might buy a 120hz monitor, because I was thinking I'd buy it later, but no point in buying a non 120hz and get another monitor that's 120hz. and for the keyboard I'm getting the Razer Blackwidow ultimate stealth from razerzone) I already have a mouse and mousepad (Razer Deathadder Black Edition + Goliathus).

And then I realized people are saying that the new graphics card (kepler) and new mobo (ivy bridge) are about to be released! It's killing me everyday thinking about how I could get a rig now and not wait, but if I buy it now and I see the new cards + mobo is better and if I wait the kepler + ivy bridge aren't worth the wait... so yea -.-"

I'm choosing to wait

Wow our builds are really similar!

Oh 120hz monitor is hard to decide on. Are you going for a 27inch? Because I have to get everything, including keyboard, speakers, monitor, just everything. I've never had to start from scratch before. So I couldn't spend as much as I would like on a monitor.

I decided on the LG lcd 27inch 120hz with TruMotion. It's not true 120hz but I couldn't justify 600$ when I had so much other stuff to buy, and I didn't want anything smaller than 27inchs. So I had to compromise. frown.gif but if you don't need 27inchs there are more real 120hz to choose from right? But a lot of them are 3D and I pretty much hate 3D. It makes me motion sick. And I don't want to pay for it if I never ever use it.

Ah my mouse is just logicool and my keyboard will probably be just as cheap. *sad face*
you're so lucky to get nice ones!

Yea I know! I was wondering, do you know the difference between the Extreme 3 and 4 mobos?
I'm not sure what size, but it's going to be for gaming mostly so I don't think a big monitor is good so I am going to go for a monitor that's about 23 inch, but the thing is it's so expensive! And $600 is too much for a monitor if you ask me haha, especially if it costs more then a highend graphics card.
I'm not looking for a 3D monitor either haha.
Also I never ever ever used a 120hz monitor and people are telling me it's amazing.... so that's why I want it smile.gif

I might get a speaker, but I don't think I'd need to because I have headphones already. (Astro A40s) that I used to use for my xbox, now I don't play much at all (haven't in 3 months)

Ahh so much money @_@
