Gentlemen and Ladies of overclock.net. I wanted to post up and let you all know that my signature rig is going under the knife. How soon is all dependant on how soon I get the parts to make the necessary changes. My eventual goal is to SLI 2 EVGA GTX 560 ti scs in my signature rig. With that being determined I started shopping for a newer and bigger psu for my beast, and have picked a Cooler Master Silent Pro 850 watt modular psu with a single 12 volt rail at 66 amps. I also have a new toy coming for my pc thanks to a fellow user on here, a crucial 64gb sata 6.0gbps ssd!
So my rig is going to definitely see a performance jump overall, and I'm expeciting my overall windows 7 experience index to jump to 7.6 and be limited only by my hex core cpu and ram score which is currently 7.6. Partially what has spurred this on is Skyrim for pc. Without antialiasing but all the other eye candy on my system runs skyrim very easily, however as soon as i turn on antialiasing my system bogs a bit whenever I'm dungeondiving and there are flames jumping on candles.
. The parts are already sitting here, well the major ones that is. I already have a spare motherboard and quad core cpu and ram and an aftermarket cpu cooler spare since I've been upgrading my build a piece at a time since building it almost a year ago. Yes, I'm a modder and cant seem to leave things alone for long! The first real swap to my pc that left me with a spare bit that I did'nt sell right away was the switch to the hexcore cpu. After doing so I ended up swapping out the older msi 785gt-e63 motherboard and the 8gb of G Skill PC2-8500 memory in favor of my ASRock 990FX Extreme3 and 8gb of G Skill DDR3-1600 memory which is more dense then my last setup. The older ram is 4*2gb of ram and my newer set is 2*4gb of ram which means I have a ton more wiggle room as far as the amount of ram I can throw into my pc. The cpu cooler is a more interesting story. Right after I upgraded to the hexcore cpu I noticed the fans were only intermittently spinning on my cooler master hyper n520 cpu cooler and that kind of ticked me off. I had also done recent work with the pc company I work for and had some pay coming from them that I cashed in on in the form of the V6GT cpu cooler I have now. Then I called coolermaster tech suport and they helped me out over the phone with a part request form for the fan splitter power wire which was determined to have failed out. The new fan splitter wire has since come in and tested fully functioning. So the major muscleware for the new pc is already here, I only had to pop for a case and optical drive and hard drive and power supply, which is as follows: a Coolermaster HAF-912 series case, a new lite-on dvd rw drive 24x speed, and a hitachi 500gb sata 3.0gbps hd. For the power supply I'm going to "recycle" the Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 700watt psu thats currently in my sig rig into the home theater build and thats why I popped for the much bigger and more powerful 850 watt psu for my sig rig. I'm also going to throw in a few extras into the home theater pc build in the form of a cooler master 200mm blue led fan for the top rear of the HAF-912 case, a fan header splitter wire so I can have all the internal fans hooked up to the motherboard in the home theater pc build, and a rosewill wireless N pci-e 1.0 network adaptor so its all ready to go wired or wireless in its new home. The OS will be determined very soon for it, which will more then likely be win 7. As soon as its built ill be demo-ing it to my brother in law who might be interested in a home theater pc depending on cost. So once all my parts come in my gaming pc will be down for a while to do the new build and stability test it before sale. I will of course continue to check in on here as I do have a very respectable Dell Latitude D630 with a core 2 duo processor at 2.2ghz and 4gb of g skill ddr2-800 memory that I can get on the net with. When I do come back from both the overhaul and build i will have new pics of both the custom build and my gaming rig to show. More information will be posted as things progress, please subscribe if you wish to watch the new build come alive as I will post pics from my laptop as I get it together. Thank you all thus far for your support and useful information.

. I wish I could eschew molex connectors in my Evil Angel, but thats pretty much how all the fans hook up and are all buried in the case. I guess I could completely dissassemble her and track down every last wire and pull off the molex adaptors and try to route the cables so they could hook up to the board. but that would be an all day project and I'm afraid my roomies would HATE the mess it would make. LOL.
