Well, I tried to wake my Laptop up from sleep mode and I was getting a black screen (though I could still hear the Windows logon sound).... so I turn it off and then try to boot up. It turns on for a second or two and then turns off again. I tried a backup AC adaptor , and the same thing happens.

I try it again about 10 minutes later, and it boots up perfectly fine, however the resolution seems to have been reset (it went to 800x600 or something like that). I re set the resolution etc, and everything seems to be fine... so I turn it off again to test, and again it will no longer boot (turns off after a few seconds).

It's a (fairly old) Compaq Presario F500 with a Turion TK-53 and 1GB RAM/onboard VGA.

What do?
