Eyefinity questions

1gb vs 2gb
My 6850 1gb right now is doing superb for all my needs, running Skyrim on high with a few upward tweaks and all my other games (less demanding games) amazingly. If I swapped it out for the 2gb 6850 and started playing Eyefinity (tripling my current monitor would make for 5760x1200 resolution), do you think I would get the same performance with the same settings, or would I have to compromise a little more?

6970 2gb performance
Thinking about getting a 2gb 6950 then unlocking it into a 6970. Anyone using a single 6970 2gb? If you're using that setup for 5760x1080 (1200 in my case) gaming I would love to know how it performs and how much performance drop you get between 1 monitor and 3 biggrin.gif

Worth it?
Some games I play, like League of Legends, can be a little goofy on Eyefinity. Do you feel it's been worth the extra cost to play on 3 monitors?

Thanks for any answers, thinking about this as a long-term spending project and would like to know what I'm getting into!

You will never be able to even get close to maxing out a newer generation game at 1GB for eyefinity. Trust me.

2GB+ or go home.

now one thing I'm wondering is if the added resolution only adds demand in the form of vram. Assuming I have 2gb vram, will other settings be more demanding in eyefinity or will they be the same?

Basically, do other settings become more demanding on eyefinity resolution even if you have the 2gb vram?

You're absolutely correct. At 2GBs you still won't be able to max out games with AA/AF and other eye candy settings. I'd say you'd be able to comfortably play newer generation games with AA/AF and other eye candy very low or disabled entirely. You have to think about it, AA/AF on three monitors at a 1080p res.
