Video Card for Dell Inspiron 15R Laptop. Internal or External

Thread Starter
I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 15R Laptop with a dreadful Intel HD 3000. I own a GTX 460 and I was wondering if anyone could suggest an external enclosure for it. I was looking at things like the MSI GUS II but it appears that wont be out for a while.

OR if anyone knew of a compatible laptop video card I could get off of ebay and stick in the Dell 15R, that would be sweet also. thumb.gif

not exactly sure if this applies to you,
but i'll post it anyway.

DIY eGPU Forum
however, you're laptop may or may not be capable of an external setup dependent on what "lanes" the 15R makes available to you.

as far as an internal upgrade,
sorry: not going to be possible for you.

Lower end lines such as the Inspiron family definitely wont have an MXM card slot, let alone the BIOS support.
you really might want to look into the eGPU setups though.
in all honesty however,
i would flip the 15R and buy something else with either a decent internal GPU or the recommended capability for an external one such as the Lenovo X220
