Then looks like I'm going to talk with her about what she does and doesn't use in windows and look up how to make our own tiny-7, there is quite a bit in win 7 she doesn't use so I'm sure I can whittle it down a little.

In the build I created above you will have enough leftover to get a bigger SSD as I didn't read that you already had a power supply.

Edit: Didn't catch the last part of the OP, so you'll save $45 for another a HDD or a better APU

For a low power rig you can get by fine with a decent case+PSU combo that would save you cash. You suggest about $75 in stuff for those, you can get an Apex D-317 for an APU build which would be fine, with included PSU that would work for this build fine, for half the price, and keep the savings or bump up to a A6-3500 triple core for ~$20 more. I'd also go with 1600 ram or 1866 if there is a cheap enough kit, these APU's benefit from better ram for the GPU. 4GB kits are around $25. Last thing, I got a 60GB OCZ Vertex Plus SSD for my parents for $4 more than the one you suggested. The a75 board for $74 is a great find though, the cheapest FM1 board I found was a $68 A55...

I think A series APU for this build is a MUST really, it will fit in perfect for casual gamer/browser. And the SSD will make things very snappy. But I really suggest you go above 1333 ram if going APU, 1600 min IMO.

Edit> forgot he had a PSU, this could really help with case selection/cost. So with the build Gun suggested, take that $45 and save it or add a bigger SSD, better ram or a higher model or more core APU as I suggested. I'm loving these little APU builds.
