Hey Im really new to overclocking. I recently purchased an amd phenom ii x4 940, I also baught a thermaltake frio, the one with two red bars on top. So i was wondering how far i can overclock my new chip and how to do it?

The amount you can overclock depends on your exact CPU. All of them are different even if they are the same. It also depends on the voltage and what your room temperature is. You just have to mess around with the settings until you find the best one.

Yup, it's cooled with LN2.  I got this result on Saturday at the Overclock.net Grand Champion Series in Toronto.

 

The chip was a Phenom II 955 BE, the motherboard was a Biostar TA890FXE, the ram was Corsair Dominator GT 1600 6-6-6, and the CPU pot was a Kingpin F1 Gemini (thanks to NoGuru for the pot).
