Need a good mic.

I currently have a zalman mic, but the wire is starting to tear... i also really don't like the quality of the mic.

It seems to have a "delay" in which if i press my ventrilo talk key it won't instantly pick up what I am saying, cuts out etc. I need something better.

$20 budget.

I have a soundcard and audio technicas if that matters.

oops.

skipped the first line, but the zalaman is great! I have ran off the chair countless times and the wire has not torn or anything.

Edit: I have keep thinking about the delay you are talking about.. sounds like software issues, I wouldn't know anything that will cause the mic to delay. Unless the mic was USB and had its own like software in it.

any other suggestions besides the zalmans?

I realize most are pretty cheap.. i just want something good for ventrilo

i don't really like the zalman mic.

If i leave it on my desk it creates a lot of noise while i am typing/clicking so i generally clip it on my shirt.. but my friends tell me that the mic cuts out and they don't always hear me.

I am thinking a desktop mic that would sit on my desk, but still i don't want to hear myself typing through the mic when im not using it which i feel like i will.

Kinda annoying, i love my music with my soundcard+headphones but can't find anything good for mics.
