I was looking into this back when I had a 1090T. Anyways, GL. As it has been said before, you are likely to run into issues pushing that bus speed higher with only 1333 RAM. thumb.gif

I guess I need to go back in and disable those two cores rather than Cores 4 & 5. However, I'm now at ten minutes of Prime95, and the core temp hasn't gone above 43°C yet vs. the 53°C at ten minutes of Prime95 with all the cores going. Based on that, I'd say that I can bump up the FSB a tad bit more and still be safe as long as the multipliers for the memory, HT, and NB get adjusted accordingly.

The cores are arranged in a 3x2 die and disabling 2 and 3 disables the middle two cores, leaving two other cores with a distance between each other; they won't run as hot as having the four cores right next to each other enabled.

Ah, that makes sense.

I shut down Cores 2 & 3 and changed my FSB as well:
  • CPU Clock Ratio-- x13.5
  • CPU Clock-- 3510 MHz
  • NB Multiplier-- x8
  • NB Freq.-- 2080 MHz
  • FSB-- 260
  • HT Link Multiplier-- x8
  • HT Freq.-- 2080 MHz
  • Memory Multiplier-- x5.33
  • Memory Clock-- 1385 MHz
  • Voltage-- Auto

Okay, at ten minutes of Prime95, my core temp is sitting around 48°C with a maximum of 49°C at the previously mentioned settings.

I'm going to let it run for an hour before I try messing with it further. About what should my voltages be at when I start adjusting them?

Okay, cool.

What kind of advantage would raising/lowering the voltage have? I know that adjusting them helps with stability & temperature but are there any more advantages/disadvantages?

Just make sure it can pass prime95 with the lowest amount of voltage possible. There is no advantage to having a higher voltage if the system is already stable. More voltage = more heat, Less voltage = less heat. thumb.gif
