NZXT phantom black cooling!

Hi this is my first post on the forum so i hope i am not doing anything wrong. I have one question. I want a get a CPU cooler so i can overclock my cpu hopefully to a stable 4.5ghz or more if god wills biggrin.gif. I need to get a cooler for my cpu but i dont know what i should get. I dont plan on going the oldschool watercooling, i was looking for an easier method like the antec 6/9 series or the corsair. I have read countless reviews, my question is would a low end corsair H50 or 60 do the job or should i be getting better cooling options. I really dont like the look of the air coolers so thats why i would really love to get a liquid one. All the reviews show that air for price and productivity beats the coolers right now but i just need something that will do the job that i want and not be in the way and a huge rock in the middle of my cpu. I already have a front 140mm 2 side 120s plus a 200m and 2 top 200m and a back 120. fan so i just need a cooler.

Thank you

If i plan on overclocking a 2500k i5 to 4.5ghz. should i get a H50, 60, 70, 80? i cant decided which one? Just trying to find the point between what i need and what is luxury. Also if it happens to leak or defective what happens to my fried components? warranty from corsair covers damages? Lastly are the corsair fans good if not i can just get the H70 and add my own fans to it? LMK what you think

thanks

I highly doubt Corsair's warranty would cover any sort of leaking because it's so unlikely. I'm sure they QA the crap out of their loops before they ship them so, for the end user, it's likely as much user error as it is their fault if there are any leaks and there's probably no good way to prove it. They might cover another loop but they wouldn't warranty everything else in your box.

Also, there's no such thing as overkill! Get an H80 and push it past 4.5!

Read the threads specifically about the Corsair closed loop stuff. They've replaced system components when an H-series leak has been the cause.

4.5 GHz should be possible with all of them. If you don't aim for more, you only need the H50 (assuming your CPU is an average overclocker). What ambient temps do you have?
Corsair's warranty is one of the best available, they'll cover everything if there's a leak (unless you're responsible).
Whether the fans are good depends on you and the cooler. What fans do you use and at what speeds? The H60 comes with a 1700 RPM fan that you can probably run as low as 700 RPM while the H80 comes with 2500 RPM fans that can't be dialed down as much as the H60's fan. I personally couldn't live with a 120 mm that ran at more than 1000 RPM at idle, but we all have different tolerances. The H70 CORE with fans customized just for your needs is a good idea, but if the H50/H60 is significantly cheaper, I'd go that direction.

I like Corsair more and more every day. Sorry about being wrong, I just always assume companies are going to suck.

Yeah, I was sorta shocked when I saw that myself. Hooray for companies that aren't skimping on they warranties! (XFX, I'm looking at you!)
