[CVG] EA boss applauds Call of Duty Elite - Battlefield subscription inbound? - Page 6

I'm so eagerly waiting for 2143 that I might even consider something like this biggrin.gif

EA was epic back in the days, they gave away booster packs for 2142 and bf2 and also made new maps in updates but now its all about the money.

I don't mind paying a reasonable price for DLC, but subscription is nonsense. That is why I have never in my life played WoW
When I buy a game I want to play it, not have to pay every month for a game I already bought.

Makes me want to do a remake of the old song 'Take this job and shove it' and change it to; 'Take your games and shove it'

Take your games and shove it,
I ain't playin' them no more.
Just bought a game 'bout an hour ago, and it went right on my drive.
You want me to 'scribe to your crappy game,so I told you where to dive.

So take your games and shove it,
I ain't playin' them no more.

la la la la la etc...

I seriously doubt that we will see a BF subscription service.
For one reason
1 - New maps and content. CoD can continually crank out map packs every quarter because they are tiny maps only holding 16 players. These maps are MUCH easier, faster and cheaper to crank out than a map for BF3, which has to be friggin huge and hold 64 players. It would take an army of coders just to be able to pump out 12 of these maps a year at minimum. (only 3 DLC/yr with 4 maps each).
But i really would not mind if they did this to the consoles, just leave pc alone.

I miss the days when content was added for free through updates and there wasn't some strange fancy term for it.

Soon enough they're going to be marketing patches as DLC.

I personally think no game is worth paying a subscription fee.
