Best noise cancelling/bass headphones?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I've been browsing around for quite some time and still can't find what I'm looking for. I'd like to buy some new headphones, I have a $200 budget. What is in your opinion the best headphones with these features.
  • Noise cancelling.
  • Nice bass.
  • (Optional) A mic.
  • Over ear.

If it matters, I listen to a lot of electronic. Hardstyle, hardcore, trance, etc. And game.

Thanks for your help guys thumb.gif

Beyerdynamic DT770- 80ohms, Ultrasone 580s
They are closed cans but not noise canceling,

Most noise canceling headphones are utter poo.

Closed cans keep the properties of keeping noise out and keeping the bass nice and loud.

Get a zaleman's mic if you want to game.

I have a pair of the DT 770 Pro 80's and they are quite good for both gaming and music listening. They have great bass and good highs as well asa broad sound-stage. However at that price point I would recommend looking on Amazon for a pair of 'Used like new' pair of Denon AH-D2000's. I have the AH-D5000's which share the exact same driver as the 2000's and they are excellent. They have a similar sonic signature to the 770 Pro 80's but are improved in every facet. The only deference between the 2000's and 5000's is the wood cups of the 5000's vs the plastic/polymer cups of the 2000's. The 2000's are supposed to have a bit more uncontrolled bass and treble that though very good can be a bit strident every now and again on certain songs. All told the 2000's are supposed to give about 90% plus of the 5000's sound.

You can find the 2000's for about 219.99$ on Amazon and if bought directly from Electronics Expo can be had for 199.99 plus 4.99 shipping.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000MVEC0Q/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

Here is the link for Electronic Expo

I'd call EE first to see if they have a pair of 'used like new'. Tell them a friend just bought a pair for 199.99 and you want the same deal plus 4.99 ground shipping. The denons are about 20-40 dollars more than the 770's new, but they are worth it.

They go pretty quick at 219.99.

I bought my Denon AH-D5000's direct from Electronics Expo 'used like new'.
Aside from an open box they came in pristine new condition.
I am going to post a thread on them soon.
Electronics Expo also has very good customer service.

I'm listening to some Dubstep as I write this and the Denons rock electronic music.
The soundstage is deep and very detailed. The bass is awesome and the sound is warm and dynamic.
Right now I only have about 50 hours break in on my 5000's so they should still get better.
Till about 200 hours or so there should be an improvement in sound.

Good luck bro! thumb.gif
