What's good Board for the opty 146 S939 - Page 2

SLI is the biggest farse out there, bigger then Valentines Day. I admit I did not read through the post, just scanned and got caught, doe.

That being said, for the price you invest in getting a second card only yields a small percentage in gained performance. If you have double the investment and double the cards you should get double the performance, not like a 20% increase of whatever it is. Just sell the 7600GT and invest in a 7950GT or something, you will gain better performance than you would with two 7600GT's.

Cant you mod the Ultra-D to SLi? I thought Sideburns had it done to his board? Also I remember reading that the Ultra-D is probably the best board put out by DFI.

Yea, you can mod it. I don't know how personally.......but If I ever find another really cheap 6800GS I might just learn

The Ultra-D is about $35 cheaper, and tends to overclock the same.

I am gonna sli my 7600gt for reasons 1. for the experience of sli 2. the bragging rights i get to do for the average person 3. they are cheap and perform great so why not! 4. i play Black Hawk Down and my monitor wont go over 1280x1024(upgrade after the first of the new year) and i average 240-380 FPS so sli and a physx card would be totally sweet!!

My current system performs great but the unability to go over 1.6 vcore makes it a poor overclocking system. If i could get more vcore i would hold on to this! But i was bit by the OC bug every since my first AMD 486 33mhz I'd say around 96 97 im guessin

Opty,s are really cheap now and oc like crazy, and i already have dual channel mushkin memory that i have gotten up 260 so far so i figured i make a few upgrades to put my RAM and WATER to good use and have a sweet system getting the most from my parts that will last..i want to wait a lil while for the am3 and or ddr3 becomes mainstream

The new Ultra-d's CANNOT be modded. Once nvidia found out what was being done the laser cut them
