How did you overclock? Through BIOS or Windows?

If you want help you'll need to be more detailed in you're setup i.e. bios setting (turned off), voltage of CPU and NB VID, and cooling.

I changed settings through the Bios.

Multi: 16
Bus: 250
NB: 1.150
Volts: 1.45-1.46
Ram: 1666 mhz
Cooling: Corsair H100

Btw, does the overheating of a CPU cause a bsod?
I've heard that 32 bit Windows is more stable than Windows 64. Should I reformat?

CPU.......................250 x 16, I use 249, since my Sabertooth add 0.7 -1 to it
CPU/NB ................2000
HT Link..................2000
RAM .....................1333, AUTO for timings, ...what RAM's stock timings and voltage are?... and why 5 gigs
Turbo Core.............Disable
CPU & CPU/NB LLC.....I use extreme

CPU Voltage .........start with 1.35V....if unstable, raise it 1.3562V, --> 1.362V and so on
rest of them ...........AUTO

This is just a CPU overclock. Test with IBT or LINX for 5-10 runs. After is stable you can move to your CPU/NB and RAM

I have heard nothing about a 32bit OS being more stable and further more if your running 8Gb of RAM a 32bit OS will only utilize 4Gb.

For 4GHz your chip is going to need anywhere between 1.45v and 1.55v depending on the chip. Also you'll see a better boost in performance by raising the NB between 2800MHz and 3000MHz with voltage between 1.3v and 1.375v on the NB VID.

Do not exceed 1.55v on the CPU.

Do not Exceed 1.375v on the CPU NB VID.

Watch core temps and don't let them exceed 55c.

Every chip is different so you'll need to find your own sweet spot for your CPU.

I'm happy you brought up the NB frequency because everytime I raise it above 2600 my monitor will not post which is telling me it is too much for the CPU or something. Another really annoying thing going on here is sometimes I can boot to my desktop with 1.45 volts for my processor and other times when I boot up it will not go to desktop and instead give me a bsod. So fast that I can't even see which bsod bug it is.
