I think Kaged wants to use parts that others have used. Shows their support for the build.

I know thy are probably very busy, but maybe contact Stanford's Folding@home department. Speaking of, I decided last night to join that cause.

Cannot wait to see where this goes.

Thank you Derek! smile.gif I really think I will take you up on the offer. That will greatly help this build, especially now that I should be getting the rest of my bonus the end of this week, so I can get to ordering a good chunk of parts smile.gif

And derek that is really cool that you would be willing to donate those parts. Buut shouldn't this build have nothing but the newest high end parts? I would think that Kaged would able to get almost all (if not all) of the money for the parts donated from here. Also have you thought of contacting other manufacturers? Intel, EVGA, OCZ, etc. would probably be highly interested in this. I mean you already have NZXT and physical progress to show it's for real. Just a thought.
Also Kaged what sort of time constraints are you under for getting this build done?
Thanks Num smile.gif

I am thinking the same way as far as the TOS goes, still waiting for a reply from kevin though smile.gif

I have submitted for sponsorship to few other companies, and still waiting to hear back from them. I would love to use all new highest of the high end parts, but I'm also trying to keep myself in a reality check, knowing that it's just as possible for them to say no. At the end of the week, I should have the rest of my bonus from the end of 2010( really slow pay out, I know). That will put me close to being able to order most of what I need to complete the build, besides a few odds and ends. If I get that 6950 from Derek, I can get another 6950, or 6970 for crossfire, which will make a pretty decent setup for gaming/folding I think.

I do want a group feel to the build, and if someone wants to donate something I can use in it, big or small, I'm willing to let them. I don't want this build to be an all out corporate sponsored build. I want to put more into this build than all parts I could probably get for free, and the modding of the case biggrin.gif If the other companies I contacted reply back to me, and want to sponsor this build they certainly can do so, I'm just happy that NZXT wanted to be part of it.

As time constraints go, I could wait until June to have the build completed, but I want to at least get it done by the end of March so I can use the time up until the Relay for Life event to promote it as much as possible.

Kaged, first of all i want to apologize for any spelling mistakes and grammar issues that may be in this post, i am currently on pain medicine for the transplant. I am giving you an update on what has happened since you wished me luck. So far the marrow was successfully harvest and i am recovering well. The transplant was successfully given to my father without any issues and its looking good. Yes bone marrow extraction is very painful, but they gave me some pretty good medicine to help with that. Shands harvest almost 2 liters of marrow from me(1.77 to be exact) so im going to be feeling it for a couple of days. If all goes as planned and no issues come up, this should give my father an extra ten years on his life. Well, i have to go, this medicine is starting to kick in...

Best of luck to you phibrizo! Get well soon! I haven't had personal experience with cancer or anyone real close to me, but I cannot imagine how painful it must be for the families living through it. You'll be in my prayers along with everyone else on this thread.

No need to apologize smile.gif That is great news so far, I'm very happy it went well for the both of you. I hope your recoveries go just as well! You did a really awesome thing for your father biggrin.gif

I don't really have any updates at the moment frown.gif Work has eaten up the majority of my time this week. If I can't get anything down tomorrow, I will for sure have an update on the mod Saturday smile.gif

I know how much it hurt to get it outta me, (of course all they did for me was dope me up on Adavan, and the basic muscle knumbing cream). IT HURTS! I'm glad that you were a suitable donor for your father, thats GREAT news. I hope everything turns out for the best. GL!
