i7 2600k CPU bottleneck? - Page 2

You will be running all games at ultra settings plus overclocking the cpu so definitely no bottleneck.

A quality 850w will do the job fine.

Unless he underclocks the 2600k or plays a VERY VERY cpu intensive game, not likely a bottleneck.

Thanks guys. How small of a bottleneck are we talking here?

And yes, I will be playing at 1920x1080.

Is overclocking easy?

Overclocking is easy on the 2600k. Check out the Sandy Stable club.

And for the third time because people aren't getting it, you will not experience a bottleneck unless like I stated you underclock you cpu, which is stupid, or play a very cpu intensive game. Which, honestly if you're playing a cpu intensive game and you do experience a bottleneck it won't matter, you''ll be over 60fps anyway.

Okay, cool, thanks buddy.

Also, would getting an i7 2700k be a better idea than a 2600k?

I would answer the question but everyone has already given you the correct answer.

Not really. You get 100Mhz clock boost and that is it. Some people think that they may be binned higher and overclock better but that is highly unlikely given how much headroom these chips already have.

Now your just teasing us...........

The 1200 psu is overkill. The rating is only good when your running your psu at 70% or so. As noted earlier, get yourself a solid 850. You will be fine.
