Another concern of mine about waiting for kepler is that i'm guessing that once its released i won't be able to get as much by selling my card, its probably me just second guessing myself after buying my card, i always end up changing my mind about things like this rolleyes.gif

Just keep your 580. It'll do what you need it to for quite a while yet. Once it can't handle your needs, then I'd swap it. Hell, I'm still not sure why I bought a 7970 (excess funds and impulse I guess).

You will always be stuck with this thought every 6 months when something else better is released and you'll never be satisfied, you got what was the best single GPU when you bought it which will always be worth something for longer than lower end cards, even in a years time these cards will still go for a decent resale price.

The best way to think about it is prices of cards are always dropping which means you can get another 580 for cheaper in the not so distant future which will blow the 7970 away and then maybe in another 1-3 years depending on when you start feeling your not hitting the performance you want, you could, sell both of your 580's and be not far off buying the best single card of that time..... and then repeat the process smile.gif

Once you've got one or two of best high end cards of a decent generation, you've got good trading piece to keep getting the best cards of future generations without taking a big financial plunge, but as always make sure the the upgrade is worth it and will do all that you want biggrin.gif

Enjoy your bloody amazing card godamn it tongue.gif

Keep the 580, I don't even know if Keplar will be worth the upgrade... especially hearing their rumored pricing...

Not worth the hassle of selling and losing money over...

I think the better upgrade would be to sell your i7 920, and get Ivy Bridge when that comes out... That's personally what I am starting with and will see how well Keplar does...

The 7970 is a much better OCer, and faster card then the 580. I get 25-30% over Quad-580 with Quad 7970.

But it's your choice. The 7970 is cheaper and much faster then your 580. If you can get a good price for your overpriced 580, make the switch.
