You might want to get an h100, because you are definitely going to want to overclock that CPU. Have you thought of going with a Sandy Bridge E rig? Its expensive, but you will got a lot more rendering performance. thumb.gif

True about the H100 but part of the thing is I'm hoping to get multiple builds because of the nature of what will be rendered about 20 1080P, 30 1600P and 2 10800P over the course of a week tongue.gif so i fiured bieng able to do the 10800s at the same time for small performance losses wiuld be better

So, build a couple of different computers together?

If you want to do that, don't bother going with such an expensive case, and drop the GPU. If you get a z68 board you can just use on board video. Also, you forgot the power supply.

100%cpu?might need to send a memo to arcsoft cause they re going at it opencl route, and if you find one of their product for Cpu only its because they haven't ported it to opencl yet.tomhardware have a series of article related to this topic so i would keep an eye on this cause initial stuff tested,ye the pro of all field are collaborating in providing the info so tom can make their taught known

not too sure on this but, isn't the i5 2500k comparable for cheaper? if your gonna OC could the 2500k be considered?

Hyper Threading REALLY helps with rendering jobs.

Get Corsair Force 3 instead. Believe me, if possible by all means avoid OCZ.

Ok so drop the case to a small model(still want sound proofing), get rid of the graphics card and remember to put in a psu what about dropping the 1tb and just getting a 128gb ssd the files wont be on there for long so there's no point in having massive storage right? also the write speeds might help with the speed nnot sure about it but just an idea

EDIT: Decided it was better to have a dedicated card just for the previews used integrated and mobo before it just to laggy and slow to set-up in the preview also one of the programs we may end up using is going to start to use the gpu in its next major revision
