@ Allan. I just did this mod. Might interest you if you have a older mouse laying around.

IMAG0357.jpg

It's a DA 3.5G cable. I might just remove the braiding later on and put that on my spawn if I'm still using it. Wire and clip is a direct fit without any modding. (At least on Xornet)

Also, Id assume the newer spawns also have a Xornet type cable, but hey you never know.

Edit: Lol wow. Xornet build quality (Plastics) are cheaper than I originally thought. Just stripped two screws ._.

Thanks for the info Skylit.

I've also tried 250hz with FW32 on a Goliathus speed and I can make it skip quite a lot. Add that to the Goliathus control, Mantis control, boogie bug and desk that it just won't track properly on.

I don't have a backup mouse (apart from the xornet) but I did spot this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Razer-DeathAdder-Mouse-Cable-1-8m-Miscrosoft-Mouse-/130593890844. Almost costs the same as a new mouse to buy a new cable and skates in the UK though.

I'll probably wait until the new firmware comes, I'd be happy with just a 900/500hz fix which sees the mouse perfect control get closer to 3m/s. Though the hz was never mentioned as something they're working on afaik. frown.gif

Edit:

I actually think the LOD is fixable. Here is why:

On my mantis (using only the black part):

f32
Direct pad - tracks fine.
1cd* - barely tracks at all.
2cd* - doesn't track.

f30a
Direct pad - tracks fine.
1cd* - tracks fine.
2cd* - tracks fine.
3cd* - tracks fine.
4cd* - skips, but still goes where i want it.
5cd* - doesn't track.

It seems to me that there is a gulf of difference between 30a, and 32, and somewhere in the middle would probably yield reasonable results.

***Please note, I'm measuring this with compact disc's. I'm hunting for my measuring tape. tongue.gif

Edited in sizes:

5 of my compact disks measure around 6mm.
2 of them measure as just over 2mm.

Obviously it hard for me to be perfectly accurate with such sizes using a measuring tape but it seems CM have somewhere between 1-5mm to play with. That actually looks fairly good if they care enough to release further updates.

I spend most of my gaming time playing FPS and I don't even have a mouse I like and can use. I'm incredibly frustrated. frown.gif

Like I've said many a time, I do believe (based on info from skylit, and that of my own testing) that this is entirely fixable, but I'm getting very impatient and would have long given up if the shape wasn't so god damned lovely.

Well one difference is that the Xornet goes up to 2000dpi while the Spawn goes up to 3500.
