GTS450 Temperature Q.

So.. Is 57C normal for my GTS450?

Running 2 monitors one at 1080p and one CRT at some lower resolution

OC at....

Core: 920Mhz
Shader: 1840Mhz
Mem: 2200Mhz

Current usage...

GPU Usage: 0-10 (spike at 20-30)
Memory: 170MB - 180MB
Fan Speed at 70%

So, you have the dual fan and four heatpipes iChill GTS450. This is one of the best cooling GTS450 around.

 

Your idle (0-10% usage) is high but probably not unusual for 2 reasons:-

1)  two monitors (of different resolutions) are connected to the same card. Nvidia driver does not downclock the card from 3D to 2D. This is not a bug and is intended by Nvidia.

2)  your having a high overclock.  Therefore, idling at 3D clock gives a high idle temp.

 

To bypass the non-downclocking, consider using Nvidia Inspector to force it during idling.

For your reference, your card at stock clock should have ~30C idle temp (when downclocking) and 40-50C load temp.

Keep it below 90C and you will be fine. Running dual monitors will cause it to run slightly warmer than a single monitor as well.

I got scammed... -.-" It's got a cooler of the Inno3D GTS250.... 1 fan, no heat pipes....
