Less energy consumption, AND more performance!

I agree with that. Running my CPU at 100% on WCG costs about $20/month. IVB should cost a bit less and produce a bit more points.

I clock it right around 4.0 in the winter months, and down to 3.4 in the summer. To be honest I will probably start with a single 7950 or Kepler (whatever is the fastest card around $350-400 in 4 months), so with a single card I'm not too worried about a CPU upgrade. I figure a year from the GPU upgrade I will get a new motherboard/CPU with Haswell and another 7950/Kepler.

I have this instead. And with all the crap talking about the H80, It keeps CPU temps under 80C with this massive heat load. At 225W, CPU temps all stay under 60C; 450W total the temps stay under 80C. I think that's pretty darned good!

First you have 3 GPUs in idle, so that's about 70 W used up right there (20 W + 25 W + 25 W).

Then takes into account of efficiency lost at PSU, roughly 65 W is lost during AC to DC converstion.

And 30 W lost for other components in your system. I'd say you looking at 270 W for that i7-920 at load.
